4:45 PM Fraud and Falsification (part 2)
  Many immigrants, for not having the required documentation for their immigration process and for not being familiar with immigration law, get themselves into a dead end street. They consult with a qualified professional and reveal that they committed or might commit an act of fraud or falsification to obtain their residency; without understanding that they are making the counselor into their accomplice. In these cases, the legal representative will protect himself by not accepting the case and will disassociate himself from it for fear of losing his license.

3:13 PM Fraud in Immigration Cases (part 1)
  Due to the high percentage of fraudulent cases, the Immigration Service has established and implemented a program to evaluate the integrity in the granting of residency and temporary visas. The last evaluation found that 33% of religious petitions are fraudulent. Even though, generally Immigration will consider the immigrant to be at fault, many times they are the ones who are victims of unscrupulous individual or organizations that take advantage of their naiveness.

8:46 PM Positive Changes! The Affidavit of Support
  Beginning July 21, 2006, a new regulation that clarifies the use of the Guarantees of Support came into effect entitled “The Affidavit of Support”. This new regulation highlights the importance of this document when applying to be a guarantor or declaring permanent residency. It also clarifies those who are exempt from having to sign the guarantee to prove to the government that the new immigrant will not be a public charge.

  Contrary to what many think, all immigrants who enter the United States as residents are considered unacceptable unless they prove, among other things, that they will not become public charge.  However, the family members of residents and citizens should guarantee it with a contract with the government.
